A guided Voyageur Canoe trip is the perfect choice for a few hours of fun and excitement. These trips make great outings and still leave plenty of time for other activities. Whether you seek a stimulating activity, a chance to get outdoors or want to take your first step into the exciting world of paddling, these half-day trips are a wonderful option. Choose from one of the many half-day or full-day guided canoe trips. We offer a wide and varied selection of paddling destinations so that you can return many times and never see the same thing twice. With the largest fleet and most professional guide staff in the area, we can safely accommodate children, beginners, Seniors, mobility impaired and groups up to 18-paddler in our 25′ War Canoes and up to 30-paddlers on some of our guided kayak trips.
It is important to note that paddling in the tidewater area is based strictly on tides and weather. Because of unfavorable tides or weather, some trips may not be possible on the day you wish to paddle. Therefore, the first step is picking the day you would like to go paddling and then we will check the tides for that day and let you know which trips are possible. Once you’ve picked a day and and we’ve decided on the trip location that will work on that day, all you have to do is book your adventure. Super Simple. You just need to know the When and How Many and we’ll do the rest for you.
Though some trips can be longer, our guided canoe trips generally consist of 2 – 2.5 hours of paddling in order to maximize fun while still staying comfortable. Though War Canoes can paddle against the tidal currents here, most of our trips are designed to ensure we paddle with the current — providing for an easy pace and relaxing trip. Weather and wind can dramatically affect paddling conditions; and safety is our number one priority. Trips will run unless high winds, lightning or other conditions arise that force cancellation.
All trips include:
All of our Lead Guides have been through ACA (American Canoe Association) Certifications, Skills Checks and Courses. All Up The Creek Xpeditions/Big Canoe Fun guides are trained in 1st Aid and CPR and experienced EMT’s are on every War Canoe trip. Guides are trained to assist customers in capsizes, or other emergencies, and provide a wealth of knowledge about the area and environment. For your enjoyment and safety the outfitter you choose should employ trained professional paddlers.
*All trips meet at the trip launch site or location unless otherwise noted.
